Kasih (tak) Berubah

I wanted to eat bagels. Made plans with my friend to try this one bagel shop called The Bagel Shop at Plaza Damas (or Sri Hartamas Plaza). The place was not bad. Not too big and not too loud. A little bit obscure from the public eye, but not too hidden. They serve decent bagels and generous with their sour cream.

I strongly recommend that place. The price is reasonable and there's no 6% tax.

After that late lunch, we went window shopping and book browsing.

The things that made my day was the bagel, book browsing and spotting the Tun's daughter. But the one thing that made my day MOST was seeing cinta hatiku, Ferhad....  <3

Oh dear... setelah sekian lama, baru kini dapat ku bersua dengan mu... <3

I think he looked better with dark hair (Ross made this as a joke to me)
I was so starstruck, I couldn't think much except for "ohhh ferhad di depan ku!"... "ohhh minat gilaaa dengan Ferhad..."  and texted my roomate about my new found joy.

Please forgive my for sounding so juvenile. lol. But I honestly felt like I was 18 again when fell head over heels listening to Kasih Berubah over and over (and over) again everyday on my walkman.

This is the song that I will never get tired of listening.

Day and Night

City_Nightime

Looking Out
Across The Night-Time
The City Winks A Sleepless Eye
Hear Her Voice
Shake My Window
Sweet Seducing Sighs

- Human Nature, MJ

There was a full solar eclipse that happened on the 22nd July 09. Well, people in Malaysia wasn't able to see much of the eclipse because of the eclipse path doesn't fall on our country, but however, people in parts of China and India were lucky enough to witness this magnificent celestial event.

If you have not seen the eclipse video yet, I suggest you do (try CNN.com) , I think it's the most awe inspiring thing I've ever seen and at the same time, it does make me feel so small and so insignificant.

Really.

There's billions and billions of stars out there in the vast open space and in that space there are many galaxies, and in those galaxies there are numerous solar systems just like the one we are in. Mind you, our solar system is just this tiny but at the far end of the milky way. And we are just on one of the 9 planets circling the sun, which is one of the billions and billions of stars out there in space. And to top it off, there are layers upon layers of skies, sea and soil on planet earth and on these living areas there's a hierarchy that consist of vast types of living organisms and minerals. Right from the massively huge blue whale until down to the smallest minuscule microorganism, the single cell.

The vastness of that space, both inner and outer does makes my mind ponder and make me stand in awe...

How could you deny all of these extremely complex and gigantuous thing that surrounds us is the masterpiece of the Great Creator, Allah SWT? How could you say that all of these just happened due to random coincidental events? Just ridiculous to me.

The night is just as beautiful as day. The skies flanked by the stars and clouds. Have you noticed the way the colour of the sky changes as the day grows to become nighttime? The rainbow that appears with the sun after rainfall. The smell of the grass and soil when rain starts to fall. The sound of thunder that accompanies lightning. Isn't in a wonder that a bunch of carbon atoms when put under extremely high pressure produces the sparkling diamonds and on the other hand without that extreme pressure, carbon is just a black graphite that creates non-permanent stains on paper. All of it, Subhanallah.

Frankly speaking, there are many beautiful and awesome things that Allah SWT creates in the nature that surrounds us, but we simply pass by it without noticing them because we are too engrossed in obtaining material and short term gains like fame and power.

The fault simply lies within us, we are too easily distracted by our own doings. We have the idiot box that we sat in front of, our eyes glued to it hours on ends. We have tall and large buildings filled with shops and restaurants that begs for people to come in and spend more and more money over the cashiers. We have the internet now available even on the smallest phones where you can easily get a fix to your social networking updates addiction almost anytime and anywhere. We work on overtime almost everyday, coming in early in the morning and going back late at night, catering the needs of the organisation that thirsts for money, more money and more money. With so much going on in our lives, it's no wonder we don't have time to stop and have a look around.

The night scape of the city only looks beautiful when seen from a distance. I believe that this is just superficial, God knows what hideous secrets the city is hiding underneath the pleasant facade. The promises of good fortune, better living and fame, whispering to hearts to come and stay for a while. But not all is bad. Trust me, there's good in everything if you look for it. If you haven't found it, then you are not looking hard enough, you're doing it wrong.
