Monday Jazz

I'm taking a day off today. Will be binge-ing myself with junk food (already started my day with McD) and be a lazy bum for a day. I totally deserve this because I am the most 'hardworkest' person on Motoland. I also paying my taxes. Take my money and use it to buy RM150 flower pots which you can find the same kind at Gi@nt for only RM15.

Still remember that thing that I've bought and complained didn't have a bluetooth connection last month? If you are still wondering what it is, it's here, here and here. Somehow, seems like everybody is going by pretty slow nowadays.

2 cost effective ways for effective fuek consumption

In times of oil prices going sky high, it is good to know a couple of ways on how to get that car of yours to use petrol effectively.

  1. Check tyre pressure. A slight decrease of pressure will cause... hmm.. how to say it.. wat keto jale sessek.. or alternatively, just go and look at this website.

  2. Fill the tank only half full (or half empty for the pessimists). A full tank will always add more mass to the vehicle, and thus it needs to burn more fuel to create the force to move it. Unless you're planning to go long distance, having a full tank is advisable.
So imagine, fuel economy saved by 10% (for having correct tyre inflation) and you only have to fill her up just half a tank only (that's like RM 25)... banyak tak? Berapa bungkus nasi lemak boleh beli tuu!

(Cont'd from) How to Bring Back that Merc

Hi,

As promised 1.5 months ago, here is the calculation of how the customs taxed the car that I brought back from UK. (This post might still be useful for Uncle De, if he's still trying to figure out about the process)

Please refer my previous post:How to Bring Back that Merc .

Calculation for Mercedes Benz E240 Classic 1998.

Gazetted Price = 56,100.00 ------(1)

There's a table handed out by the customs to the agents that lists down the prices of cars according to their production year. I didn't manage to get it from my agent.

After discount 70% (7 years: 1 year takes off 10%): (1) x 0.3 = 16,830.00 ------(2)

Multiply with current rate: (2) x 1.7333(Deutchmark) = 29,171.439 ------(3)

Add tax = 145.86 ------(4)

Add more tax = 1,500.00 ------(5)

Total:(3)+(4)+(5) = 30,817.30 -------(6)

Multiply with 30% (Import Tax): (6)x 0.3 = 9,245.19 ------(7)

Multiply with 125% (Excise Duty?): (6)+(7)x 1.25 = 50,078.11 ------(8)

Multiply with 10% (Sales Tax):(6)+(7)+(8)x 0.1 = 9,014.06 -------(9)

GRAND TOTAL: (7)+(8)+(9) = RM68,337.36

I hope the calculation that I've shown above makes sense.
