Semalam cerita pasal kek pelangi dan diselitkan sedikit kek lapis Sarawak.
I'm a cake person, give me cake anytime I'll eat it. Bring it to me bro.. But today, I never thought I would say this :- I had enough cakes already, thanks.
I also mentioned about a slight weight increase. So I did some laps (maybe 5 or 6) today in the pool. Controlled my lunch and dinner. I am practically starving right now (no food past 11pm)... I never been the one who will go on a diet. I am that girl who ate as much as the boys. I am that girl who ate the whole chicken if nobody stopped her from doing so. Either age has caught up or I'm not moving as much as I used to. Blame it on the knee injury.
Let's limit our food intake, ye lah.. Makan banyak macam org buat kerja kat bendang buat apa pun kan? We don't actually need that much really. Obesity, diabetes, cholesterol clogged arteries and high blood pressure are the diseases of those surrenders to gluttony (penyakit orang kaya?).

A day in an MRI machine
This is almost like writing in my own journal. I'm liking this app a little bit more every day. How I did this was to send the written note to Photo Album, then upload into Dropbox. Copy the link and add into blogger's new post. Well, maybe with the iCloud soon the steps will be reduced. Can't wait for iOS5.

Trouble Sleeping
I went to bed early last night. 12am (normally it would be 130am) with hopes that I would get an early start in the morning. However, I suddenly woke up at 1.15am and wasn't able to go back to sleep until close to 4am. I'm not particularly sure what woke me up, whether it was the dull pain in my left knee that's been nagging since last week, or the temperature (I didn't turn on the fan), or an itching itch or the sudden hunger pang I felt in my tummy, or because of the bad dream that I vaguely remembered.
I have sleeping problems, I don't mind staying up and doing some work but the thing is I still need my 6 hours of rest. And when I start my day late my productivity level is very low and I'm not able to get much done. I think one of the reason is I can't make my brain to stop thinking. It's always 'noisy' up there. Maybe I worry too much. I used to be sleepless when I had engineering issues to solve at work, thinking and coming up with a number of ways to find a solution. I can't sleep when I'm at a new place. I also can't sleep when I anticipate to do something exciting the next day, like going to a place or just trying a new experiment. It doesn't really help if I need to wake up early for the long journey because I'll suddenly wake up thinking "OMG, I'm late!!" and later realised it's just 3am. It gets worse when I'm down with fever because my thoughts will become even more morbid. Let's just not go there.
Here's what I have done...
- cut caffeine intake after 6pm. I know this is not a problem because last time I can go to sleep even after taking espresso shots. But I'll avoid them just in case.
- try to avoid taking short naps during the day.
- immediately go to bed when I feel sleepy and not try to fight to stay up.
- closing the window & shut the drapes to make the room quiet and dark.
Here's what I plan to do...
- start working out again to drain the energy so I'll be tired and be able to fall asleep quickly. But I'm concerned about my knee being 'busted'. I think that Drs at the clinic don't know what they're doing because it's still not fixed.
- 'flush' the noises out from my head. hard to focus on this... worked for 5 minutes and then started 'buzZing' again.
- I'll set up a bed lamp and read something really dull (like a technical book) and hopefully it'll be boring enough to make me fall asleep.
So last night, I got bored between the tossing and the turning, so I listened to a couple of Queen songs (I Want to Break Free & Love of My Life), then watched the last 20 minutes of Becoming Jane on my phone, checked into FB and Twitter (again from the phone, avoiding turning on the computer to make matters worse), went to the kitchen for a glass of water, turned on the radio and there was Kris Dayanti's Mencintai mu playing, read old journal entries and finally wrote down something until I felt sleepy again. That was the last thing I did before succeeded in dozing off.
I think writing works for me. I don't think I'm much of a writer myself, but it has always been the best way for me to express myself. Which explains a lot about me having a blog and updating it frequently and mostly talking about stuffs and myself. I do try to keep this blog as anonymous as it can be, because I don't want to get into trouble with things that I might have said (unintentionally or intentionally).
OK, enough with the critical analysis... I'm only trying to get this off my chest so that I can sleep better at night. Now it's 5pm and I'm going down to the gym and work my insomnia out of my body system. Oh, I hope having a cup of jasmine tea won't spoil anything later.

This Is It and that is that
I went to see This Is It yesterday evening immediately after work. I recently found this 'golden' movie time and it really works for me.
I wonder why myself that I didn't start doing this a few years earlier? During this time, I find that the line to the ticket and food counter is shorter (1-3 people in front of me), the ticket is cheaper on weekdays and the best part is that the cinema hall is less than half full. It beats going to the movies on weekends where it's always pack and there's a lot of annoying disturbances from all four angles of where you're sitting.
In the past, on almost all occasion, I was almost soaked up with all this bottled up anger towards that person sitting next to me who was continuously texting throughout the movie, the idiots sitting at the back who keeps kicking my seat, the brought company who keeps asking "What happened?" etc (aren't you watching??!!), the latecomers who sits in front of me or in the same row.
Okay Miss Grumpy, stop.
This Is It was yesterday's choice. You know what, i won't spoil the readers, but if you're a fan (like me) you then should go and watch it. I really enjoyed it. The man got so much talent and creativity, so much energy, so much knowingness about music and so much love to everyone. You know where his heart is. When it comes to the ending, honestly, I felt a little depressed and sad, because it means that that's just it. No more. It's hard to believe that there won't be nothing more from the King of Pop. Does this means the love stops here? :'(
With all the props, dancers, computer graphics, pyro, fire and everything else prepared for the big show, it is such shame that no one will never ever get to see the actual This Is It concert planned. Such a shame... It would have been a great one.
Go and watch This Is It you fans out there.
I found a website that is dedicated to the fact that his death was a hoax. I follow that site just to fill my curiousity and there are some amusing stuff that people can dig out sometimes. But honestly, I believe that he's gone for good. Why? Because you know he loves his fan so much that faking a death would be a the most outrageous thing to do. Breaking the hearts of millions is not something that Micheal would do. But then, whenever I visit that site, I don't know what to believe anymore. But then again, we are still waiting for Elvis to come out from his hiding place.
This is a very emotional-laden entry.
So I will switch to another mode. Crazy.
After reading this next section, you might think that I am a loony and a total nutcase. But as of this morning, I am happy that I am not the only person having this problem. I googled this because yesterday, after coming out from This Is It cinema hall, it was really, really bad. The hall was very, very cold that time. It might be the temperature change that's causing it.
Sometimes whenever I go for a walk, especially when it's slightly cold, I will get itchiness on the legs. It starts with a little itch, like on the sole of the foot and the itch slowly grows into what feels like a burn to the whole legs . Then I'll start to get uncomfortable and have this big urge to scratch the itch. It can come to a point that I'll scratch the skin until it leaves scratch marks and bleeds. I just feel like I want to cut open a coconut and use the sabut or get a very coarse sand paper or grow several claws to scratch the itch away.
And it's really distressing and a very big problem when I'm out in public, you can't just sit down on the floor and start scratching can't you? And when I don't scratch and try to ignore the itch and the burning feeling, it makes me feel irritated and angry and the same time, I will break out into a phobia and panic and it makes me think that everything feels unclean, especially the ground I that I am walking on, be it tiled floors in the mall, the grass in the park, pavements, etc. It just feels very dirty, like I've stepped on something very nasty eventhough there's obviously nothing there. Sometimes I seriously think that I have to walk on stilts to avoid all everything gross on the floor and on the ground. I will look down while I'm walking to concentrate on where I'm stepping, to avoid the nasties, just in case. Sounds more like a mental health issue.
I still feel I need those stilts.
What a relief to know that there are others having the same problem like me and they're equally happy to know that they're not alone in this world with this problem. But this doesn't solve any problem does it?

World Environment Day
Today (5/6/7 - what a great date!) is the World Environment Day and the theme for this year is "Melting Ice - A Hot Topic?", a very oxymoronic statement, isn't it?
If you have the chance and time, please get yourself a copy of Al Gore's bio/documentary entitled 'An Inconvenient Truth', where he talks mainly about the increasing global temperature and its effects and impact to us and the world.
The world is like a huge chamber that retains heat. The atmospheric layers acts as insulant preventing carbon dioxide from leaving the earth. This is made worse with deforesting and burning of fossil fuel. Although a small number of scientists say global warming is a normal earth 'cycle', I on the other hand partly believe that statement. In my opinion, yes, global warming is a natural occurence (about every ten thousand years or so), but it is made 10 times worse by human activities.
If you think that the action taken by one person might have no impact at all in improving the health condition of out world and you ought to wait for government laws to be passed only then things will change, you are wrong. If anything, it has to start from the smallest unit, that is you, and then we proceed to persuade families and friends to be more aware environmentally. I'm trying to do my bit to help cool down global warming threats by recycling, saving energy and reduce unecessary waste. I hope you will do you part to help too.

Health Awareness
All of you may have heard that plumbum or lead (chemical notation: Pb) is toxic to the human body.
Lead is insoluble in water but easily soluble in inorganic solvents, fats and lipids and these are the constituents of our body (lemak2 dalam badan). How dangerous is that?!
Lead poisoning is an accumulative process which require continual exposure to high levels of lead to show any effects. Therefore, we might not realise that we are consuming lead until it's too late!
But don't worry, you can control lead from entering our body:

- No smoking, eating or drinking at the work area.
- Wash hands after work and before eating.
- Do not wear make-up when working in lead processing area
